One man's trash is another man's treasure

Too cute to abandon.

What does this exactly mean? Is it an expression? Even Google translate doesn’t know.
I'm sorry - I didn't get back to this in time to clarify it for you. But yes, a "dog pound" is an impound shelter where unwanted, abandoned or stray pets often end up. High volume shelters tend to have short hold times - usually one to two weeks. Once the hold period is up, the animals are euthanized. My "Echo" was at high risk because of what's been dubbed "The Big Black Dog" syndrome. People shy away from them because of stereotypes and because dark dog faces make it hard for potential adopters to read their facial expressions. There's a similar issue for black cats - which is why I have TWO!
On a more positive note, there is a trend towards no- and low-kill shelters. The holds there are much longer, giving the animals a much better chance of getting adopted, but that practice can only continue if people spay and neuter their pets. Every puppy or kitten brought into the world - even the "designer dogs" in popular demand -takes a home away from one that's already here!

I repurpose junk all the time! I have an entire box full of random pieces of objects I've saved just in case!

My nesting boxes are made from an old dresser that was going to be thrown out.

Even though my old nesting boxes that my parents built were still in acceptable shape, I needed new ones. I had recently bought several Brahmas (a very large chicken breed) and I needed something quite a bit larger and lower to the ground. Silver-laced Wyandottes in the old, cramped nesting...

I am using parts of an old shoe rack as a plant trellis.

I've repurposed and reused plenty of free pallets.

And there's more, but I can't think of them all right now. :)

The dresser nesting boxes are such a good idea! So many people get rid of them for very cheap or free, it's a very clever way to give them a new life! I'll be keeping this in mind for next time I need to build nesting boxes.

I am now officially on the hunt for a small dresser!
