would it be possible to raise one cornishx for butchering with my other chicks(layers)
or due to the feed requirments would it not be healthy

I've done it.
The cornish cross eat so fast that their food disappears as fast as I'd put it down, and it didn't seems to make a difference if they ate layer feed too, and were big and healty, ready to butcher at 8 wks.

I'd seperate them for the good of both birds, unless you are unable to do so.
