one month bird string around tongue

Our month~ old orpington chick got hold of a piece of a nylon string and managed to get some of the threads stuck in her tongue. We trimmed off what we could, and we can only get her mouth open so much to see what is still stuck. Any suggestions on how to get her mouth open safely so that we can try to remove the rest of the thread? Help! And TIA

Gently hold her lower beak behind the head and open the beak

Thank you! we ended up wrapping her in a towel, hubby opened her beak (as suggested!) and I was able to carefully snip with manicure scissors (which I don't think I have ever used on fingernails, only for DIY things like this! ha). Her tongue looked untouched. Phew!
