i have 5 hens and one seems to be disliked by the others. when i give them their morning snack they run her off. she now spends most of her day on the outside(run) roost above the others. even the smallest of the hens picks on her. she does not have any wounds and does not seem to be ill they just don't seem to like her for some reason. i don't know what to do. i set up a feeding dish up high where only she can get to it from the roost. i told the others to be nice to her but they don't seem to listen. should i just wait to see if this passes? should i get rid of her? should i start a rumor about her to make the others jealous and maybe gain her some popularity?

what breed is she and the others? i had a cochin that was treated that way by the rest of the flock- i finally rehomed her so she would be with other cochins- the problem is she won't be getting enough to eat or drink- maybe separate her and one of the other hens that are more passive and in a couple weeks try reintroducing them...might kind of reset the order a bit

As long as there is no feather picking or they're not actually hurting her, I probably wouldn't rehome her. However, I would make sure that there is more than one feed dish available so that she does get enough food. Now if it gets to the point where YOU just can't stand feeling sorry for her, then rehome her.
