I didn't write the article, but yes, they are the largest chicken breed (regardless of feather color), going by weight - maybe not by height, though.

As far as that other article goes, yes, poorly written as well as incredibly sanctimonious. I mean really, by writing that whole thing in The Rural Virginian all the author did was bring up the local sales of Playboy since everyone who reads it or hears about it because their parents are discussing the article will be buying that issue.

Yes, it's vaguely possible some girls may get some message about how cheap the author thinks it is for young ladies to pose for such things, but really, if they haven’t figured it out by their upbringing already, don’t hold out too much hope and the boys will all be making tracks to a nearby store.

The author really just wanted to prose and preach in print IMO, it sure doesn’t make me think he’s as important as he seems to think he is.
