Hello, One of my new chicks is unable to walk and is doing the splits. It is in a wooden box with 17 others. Any ideas on how it can be cured. Thanks.

its called spraddle leg and its caused from slippery floor. it can be corrected with a hobble/brace, the sooner the better. there are alot of options but i have found a bandaid cut lenth wise is the easyst to handle. be careful around the water too. u can put some stones in water to prevent drowning and the most important thing is, dont feel sorry for them and take it off, u are helping. google splay or spraddle legs in chickens to see how to put it on.

allso the shelfing material sold at dollar store , walmart, alot of places. its non-skid rubber stuff prevents this and will help baby too

Thank you very much, someone else told me that this might be because of heat or lack of heat. I will hopefully try the bandaid around the legs, thanks again.
