under his/her wing and it is raw skin, he's picking at it. I didn't notice this when I picked up the box of chicks ...I've left a message for the byc member

But what Can I do tostop him/her from picking on this...It's obviously bothering him...I'm afraid he's break the skin

What could it be.

S/he's about 3 days old..

Thanks. Nancy

Can you wrap the wing close to the body?

I was thinking the same thing; just be sure not to wrap it too tight or the baby won't be able to breathe...

I think I'd put a bit of Neosporin(without pain reliever) on the raw spot.
Could it have mites or something that it's picking at?

I don't know the conditions in which it was kept before I picked it up. I'm thinking it may have laid on the heating pad in the box and burn his arm some how...I looked for signs of mites and didn't see any... Neosporin, I think I'll try!
