We live out in the sticks for the most part so I'm hoping they have more interest scratching around in the woods than in the garden. Seems like there'd be far more bugs and whatnot in the leaf litter to keep them busy but we'll see!This!!
We use chicken wire (about all it's good for) to keep the chickens out of the part of the garden we don't want them in. We let them into the corn, sunflowers, and vines like squash, cukes, and pumpkins. We sometimes find cukes with holes in them though, but at least we keep them out of the peas, tomatoes, kale, lettuce, etc.
