One of the Royals left a little surprise in the nest

Our guys do not have a living Quarter Horse trailer. Which by-the-way sounds awesome. That's probably why they are so affordable .
Super cool your daughter is enjoying the chickens!!!
LQ trailer was something I never thought I would have. I paid my dues there. LOL. My daughter wanted chickens, I said no because i didn't want to stay home and take care of them. I want to travel and ride! But Mom, I'm here to take care of them. OK we got some. She says; "you're going to the barn anyway, how much longer does it take to feed the chicks?" BTW, she's 37. In fairness to her, she moved home to go to grad school and change careers. BUT wait 'till riding season, she's got chick duty!

he he! I was imagining a cute little 7 yo. And you the 37yo grad school student. Oh, the power of the internet! Well, I guess the trailer is worth it!!!! A rolling working vaca.
Must be rather chilly in you area these days?

Not bad today. Sunny and 17, low wind. Supposed to get warm end of the week. The chicks don't go out too much. The horses would rather go stand in the woods than in their barn. They are fat and furry. I expect that I will get frozen eggs some days. Was just checking your locale. Some different there! Nice chatting.

We are up to 11 eggs since Tuesday. 3 of 5 laying. It's fun!

Holly cow!!! You have a regular egg factory now, that was quick ... and yes, very exciting for you!!! So the math is much better now, they are like $50. eggs now. ;) I don't think it will ever get old finding eggs. Now it means healthy and happy chickens! Congrats again :ya

Your neck of the woods is storybook beautiful!!!
Our summer is hard where I live. I hide from the heat and sun. YUCK!!! Kinda like the opposite of you folks.
That mountain range is the 1st Jurassic Park movie backdrop and my nice drive home backdrop yesterday. Winter is lovely here.

I might get to Hawaii some day. i really hate long flights. I love Vermont with it's many beautiful seasons. Winters can be long but I try and visit a friend where its warm. Winter gives me a chance to veg and sew. Are you able to ride all year? April to Oct here.

I have 8 chickens, 5 are laying. I get between 1-4 a day. Usual average is about 3 cuz one or two is always fussy about something! They are fun.
I don't have the skin to live where it is cold. I tried Colorado once. It is beautiful, but even summers were cold to me. Too bad cuz there is a big beautiful country out there.
Yes, we can ride pretty much all year with the exception of heavy rains or intense heat but with the heat we can wait till the eve. In summer, bathe horse then ride is always awesome. Horse likes it and I like not washing my blankets as much. How many horses do you have and what breeds? How long have you been competing?
