Okay - I ordered Buff Orpingtons - all pullets, and they are beautiful - but one is an oddball.
The color is darker - there are a few dark tailfeathers, and the legs are YELLOW - as opposed to white.

have 1and 2 year old buff orps all came from murraymcmurray ...hatched about 750 eggs ...all fertile and some of my chicks came out like your pic ...they look like a real light rhode Island red and buff orp mix.

Thanks for your replies! These came from Estes Hatchery. The other Buffs are noticeably different - not sure how exactly things are done at the hatchery, so who knows?!

The top pic looks like a New Hampshire Red pullet. The bottom three pics look like a Welsumer pullet.
