One of those nights

There's something out in the woods this evening. The cats have clattered through the flap, tails like bog-brushes, glaring back into the dark.
Deer, boar, badgers - who knows? I guess I'll be doing some torch-lit wandering tonight.

So long as it isn't that darn long-ranging Labrador again. I'm not minded to be as lenient as last time especially as it's taken nearly two months for the insurance to pay out. "Cheque's in the post", my backside.

It was a deer so I'm out with hammer, stakes and staples for running repairs on the fence she went through rather than over. Now the chasseurs have finished for the season I guess there'll be a few more of these!

The French Air Force: predator or pest? darn sonic booms...two dozen chickens surging underfoot. Now all under the hedge right next to the house refusing to budge.
