Seriously. I've read through several chicken books, magazines, etc., but none really prepared me for the reality of keeping chickens.
I wish someone who has had a ton of experience could write something up what it's really like..the problems with flies, housing ideas, how to trim nails, all about DE and other "home" remedies...where to find a chicken vet..cockerel behavior, mating behavior-what's normal, what's not..
There are so many things that have come up during my first three months of chicken raising that the books didn't prepare me for.
I wish there was a *real* person out there who would write a realistic version of having chickens as pets!
