Since I brought home our 6 new pullets from TSC today, there is one of them that is constantly pecking the other 5. She is an equal opportunity pecker too, not focusing on just one, but everybody. My seven year-old daughter inncocently wants to name this one Pecker.

I just wanted to see what all of you much more experienced backyard chicken farmers had to say about this. Thanks!

The pecker is the dominate one for now, things might change as they grow, give it a bit and see what happens unless the pecker starts to draw blood. pecking order is in the works...

ok, lets see if we can come up with a better name!

Chompy He's trying to chomp the other birds. lol
Nibbles (kinda sounds like a rabbit name though)
Sir Bites Alot
Bossy
You could tell your daughter he's actually kissing the other chicks and call it Kissy

That's all I got for now

Oooh! I like Sir Bites a Lot. I'll give her your other suggestions. We try not to crack up every time she runs in to give us an update on "Pecker." I'm trying to get her to at least call it "Pecky", like Becky. I can only imagine the stories she will share with her class tomorrow about Pecker.

I like Pecker....that is what we have been calling the one barred rock chick we got because for the first couple hours it just went after the other chicks & pecked at them. It finally did calm down later in the day & has no longer been pecking....maybe we should change its name now.....
