If you have any tweezers or something that can pick little pieces of shell off carefully then I would suggest using that. Also I would wrap the eggs in a warm, moist towel when opening them. Just remember that if you see blood just stop peeling away the shell, however losing a little bit of blood will not hurt them. Chicks are resilient little creatures!
