Yesterday was day 21 after setting my eggs. Or today is, not quite sure when the counting starts.
I set fourteen mail ordered eggs, 4 Wheaton Americanas, 4 or 5 Olive Eggers, and a mix of Marans. I expect a low hatch rate, as they were mail ordered. I don't think candling is an option, because of the dark shell of the OEs and Marans.
This morning one had piped, one of the Americanas, and has since hatched. It's peeping and flopping around the incubator as it dries off. No sign of activity from any of the others.
I have been told to wait up to 23 days for the others to hatch.
My question here is, for you incubator experts, is how much longer should I wait for the others to pip, before I give up? And how long should I leave that one live chick in there before moving it to the brooder?
Thank you in advance.

That first one can make it up to 3 days with no food or water. Give it at least 1 full day, then if you are anxious, remove it to a brooder...but better to wait 3 days so you don't lose humidity.

Second chick, a BCM, hatched 25 hours after the first. Still no other piping from the other eggs. Nothing to do but wait and see, I guess. Really hoping for more than two, those are not good odds. Though getting two I am taking as a sign that I at least did something right for some of those that made it through shipping.
