Silver Laced Wyandotte pullet appears lethargic, she will stand with head held low and eyes closed. When I caught her she offered just a little resistance, her feet seem to be weak and she's a little off balance but is walking. Her poop is watery and loose. Her color is normal compared to her siblings and does not appear to be feverish to the touch.
I thought she may be reacting to a heat increase in our weather @ 90* F, all my birds are in the shade. I brought her in and misted her down, she's in about the same condition. I think I'm going to isolate her from the others.
I mixed some electrolytes in the water yesterday to make sure they didn't dehydrate. I also put down some DE in the yard. The sick looking pullet is not panting and isn't holding her beak open at all, most of the others are holding their beaks open She's
the only one who appears to be feeling bad.
One other valuable note, I mixed in some new stock 24 hours ago, 4 Light Sussex with the 4 Silver Laced Wyandotte cockerels/pullets. There was a little tension at first with the SLW's chasing and pecking my LS, but it's cooled down about 95% since last evening.
I'm not quite sure what to do or how to treat this situation. Any ideas?
