One Rubber Egg?

My hen Sarah has been laying nice, hard eggs shells, and today she laid, right in front of me on the deck, a rubbery egg. Ew. Tossed it over the fence to the easement. Do hens randomly lay a rubber egg once in a while? She on the same diet, feed, free ranging, calcium.

Any ideas? It looked like an off-white jello egg , ewww....

One of my new laying girls gave me one last night. Kinda freaky. But from what I have read on here it hapeens from time to time. Make sure she has enough calcium. I mixed oyster shell in their food today instead of free choice and am going to recycle their egg shells from now on cause I have been told they prefer them over the oyster shell.

Yes, I also added more calcium today. It was weird to see her lay at 5pm, instead of her normal 9 am...
