I have 8 baby chicks, one of which I hatched myself, the rest I bought at a roadside yardsale. The one I hatched is still very small and last night I noticed she looked very sick and the others were bullying her/him so I rescued her and brought her inside and back under the heat lamp. Today she seems a little better and she keeps jumping out of the box and following me throughout the house. When I pick her up she just stands in my hand and goes to sleep. I feel this is somewhat weird for a chicken, but oh well, I guess she loves me.

I'm going to upload some pics of her/him aka Norma, and if anyone can give me some advice as to what's wrong and how I can help get Norma well I would greatly appreciate it. I've grown rather attached and want to save her but I don't want to expose my children to any sickness. Thanks everyone. I hope someone can help me.

This is Norma. Along with what you can see in the pictures, she also has what appears to be the sniffles with clear discharge from her nose. These pictures aren't the greatest but her bottom is practically bald and looks inflamed and the little baby feathers on her wings are thinning and her skin looks inflamed also. Thanks to everyone in advance!!

Hi, Norma,

I just got in. . . I only know about ducks. Have you tried the Emergencies Thread or the main Chicken Forum? There are duck folks here who also have chickens, just wanted to be sure you know about other resources. Poor little.

If she were a duck I'd be giving her vitamins and think about she may need antibiotics, but again, I have no chicken experience.

Thanks. I will try posting in another forum. I'm kinda new at this, but thanks anyway.
