I have 24 barred rocks that are six months old they are laying between 16 and 20 eggs a day with one rooster. I also have 23 pearl white leg horns 15 hens and 8 roosters , they are 4 months old , one of the hens are laying already.

Larry, I'm new at chickens too and have not experienced one dying yet so I can't say I know how you feel. But I am sorry, it sounds like you tried really hard to help her and my thoughts are with you.
