Looks like a boy to me so far. Upright stance, big legs, light color and small wings. The stripe behind the eye will help someone id for you. Do you know what breed(s) the parent birds were> what egg color? Do get more chicks asap! small plushy toy in the meantime, and a rolled up face cloth as a safe perch may be nice. I'd sing to them, softly before appearing.
