One standard size with bantams?

I ordered 8 bantams (4 buff brahmas, 4 porcelain d'uccles), but I would love one standard size hen that is a better egg layer. Could that work or would the standard size bully the bantams? Is there a particular "kind" breed I could look into for that situation? Thank you!

It won't necessarily be a problem. Sometimes bantams are the bullies.
Though they are very productive, stay away from Rhode Island Reds as they tend to be bullies of a mixed flock.
I assume from your screen name that you are in Kentucky. In that case, I would consider Leghorns (any variety), Minorcas, Anconas, White Faced Black Spanish, Jaerhons, Australorps, Dominiques, Faverolles, Redcaps, Delawares - all excellent layers.
Possibly even Ameraucanas.
Leghorns come in at least 10 color varieties. Minorcas are most common in black but also come in white and buff. I used to have white Minorcas and I've had both white and black Leghorns.

I've had a mixed flock forever, and it's not a problem. I avoid production reds of any sort, because so many have been bullies. Otherwise, CC has a nice list of breed choices. I'd add Speckled Sussex, very sweet birds.
For maximum egg production, probably Leghorns or Australorps.
Mine are raised together, which is best. Get more than one big pullet too.

I must be honest. Probably because I like big eggs, I've never owned bantams myself but many of my friends have. Some of the older upstate Missouri longtime poultrymen have embraced bantams. They tell me that, generally speaking, bantam eggs are about 2/3 the size of LF eggs but feed consumption is almost half. I think that is their motivation.
I still love my 70 gram eggs and the breed I currently raise (after over 30 breeds) may be the only one I will ever raise unless I somehow get more space.

They are only 75% as big as the standard but I eat 1 or 2 with toast for breakfast and it fills me.
