Hello,

I have a four year old bantam hen who has been struggling with a cyst/swelling around one eyelid. She have had it almost three years now. It didnt bother her before, but now its gotten way bigger and itchy.

She has not laid an egg in a long time either. I am more busy with the fact that she still is herself, eats drinks free ranges, dust bath etc.

I have tried vetericyn eyedrops, it use to pop before when i applied the eyedrops, but now it has not popped for months. I also tried terramycin eyegel, but it has not worked or i applied it wrong.

Is anyone familiar with this? And no its not any disease.

Does it feel hard? Do you think something got stuck under the skin?

It could be an infection.

There maybe what called a sack in there. Once you get everything out there will be a layer of tissue that needs come out. If it doesn't come out it will keep coming back.

I would try using a warm wet clean wash cloth to her eye as a warm compress a couple of times a day. It does look itchy, and she is probably scratching it and causing the swelling and redness. Have you been applying the Vetericyn eye gel into her eye? Terramycin antibiotic eye ointment can also be put into the eye 2-3 times a day. Has she had any eye bubbles or foam in her eye?

Oh thats a good advice can you tell me how i am supposed to warm the cloth and what kind of cloth would microfiber work? And yes i use vetericyn eye gel too but then her lid gets stuck and her face gets dry. No foams or bubbles.
