I'm not sure I'm posting in the right place but earlier today one of my 7 day old Isbar chicks passed away very suddenly. I was able to get to her before she passed. I found her on her back struggling to turn over and struggling to breath. I scooped her up and held her close to my chest. She had very little strength and made no noise. In just about 5 minutes she passed away. I don't know what happened. She was in brooder with 19 other chicks. 5 of them were here siblings and 14 of them were BCM just 5 days older. They've been together from day one and everyone has been fine. I'm so new to this but I is it possible she was accidentally trampled? My husband had gone out to the barn just about 10 minutes before me and he tends to go out with a loud, jovial voice that (unintentionally) startles the chicks. I'm just grasping to figure out what might have happened. She was perfectly healthy... eating, drinking, active... just as she ought to have been. Any thoughts? Again, I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum. I'm just a bit lost. I'm heartsick for the little one but glad I was able to at least give her some warmth and comfort as she passed.
