\~ * >One Will Reign< * ~/ a wild horse role-play

~Macawi faced him defiantly, completely unfazed by his imposing size. "Macawi," she huffed, her ears lifting slightly. "And I act every bit of the coyote I'm named for."~
~Otaktay gave a low whinny of amusement. "You've got the ultimate Leader's approval, kid." His dark eyes gleamed with a mix of consternation and challenge. "Don't let him down. You have absolutely no clue what an honor you've just been given."~
~Macawi gave an incredulous snort. "The honor of innumerable battle scars?"~

"Have you SEEN my flanks?" Flood whinnied. "Battle scars just add to a powerful presence"

~Macawi shuffled her hooves after running her gaze along his immense body, noting the tens of silver scars that adorned his skin. "They do indeed," she muttered finally. Gritting her teeth together against a sudden wave of pain that emitted from her deepest wound, she looked up at the stocky burro, then the stallion. She smirked with her audacity at facing these formidable equines with a fearless front. "So what next? Where's your camp?"~

"We have no camp!" Flood announced proudly. "This ridge is where we all meet, and me and Otaktay both spend a lot of time up here - come see why" he nickered, pointing her towards the grand view over the territories.

~Macawi followed his gaze in awed silence and suddenly felt a rush of superiority come over her. "The gang truly does rule," she muttered, her ears standing talk with certainty. Her eyes suddenly narrowed and inexplicably darkened. "And I'm a part of this reign now."~

" th gang does not reign yet" Flood stated firmly. He paused for a long moment. "YET being the key word in that phrase - and you will be a key part in taking over." He rumbled. "You will be my eyes and ears in mountain herd. I want you to go back, and tell Smoke that it was Valley herd who did this to you. !y plan is to destroy both herds at once - but that will be tricky. That yearling who wounded you will become my spy in valley herd" he stood calmly closing his eyes and the wind blew gently through his mane. "Don't get cocky" he snorted. "Humility may seem like a weakness, but it keeps your thinking clear and your attacks more successful."

~"I will go," Macawi nickered, tail flagged high. Her hoof stamped in anticipation. "I no longer have any attachment to that herd, but I can feign it. It will be flawless." Her eyes narrowed for perhaps the tenth time in this malevolent conversation. "I have a few things to settle in Mountain Herd. This will more than satisfy it." She looked up at the massive stallion, planting her hooves deeper into the ridge as she swiveled to face him. "Do I go now?"~

Flood smiled evily. "Good. If you can lure a few of the younger horses - or any horse that's willing - to join us, do so. Go now. We can't follow you or they'll find our scent. Say you were captures by Valley herd and Paytah tortured you. Do anything you can to stir up hatred from Smoke to Paytah."

~Macawi nodded, teeth clacking together in malice. "Right now, I want nothing more than revenge." She began to slide back down the slope into the impenetrable forest, then dug her hooves into the cascading soil and looked up. "When do I return?"~

"On the next new moon" Flood replied. He paused for a long moment. "Show up like you haven't had this chance to rest. Act like the wounds are worse than they are, but don't be super dramatic about it" he instructed. "And bringf any horses who will join us with you" he finished.

~"Will do," Macawi nickered, tail lashing in a circle. "I won't let you down." With that, she kicked up her hooves in a weak trot down into the sloping forest, trying desperately to keep her legs firm.~

Flood glanced sideways at Otaktay. "She's a good one" he murmured.
