Chirping
I grew up on a farm which included chickens and hated it. Now at 57 years old, my new husband and I are living in a 70 year old farmhouse and enjoying raising chickens. I tell people all the time how easy and fun it is! Last year we started with 7 one year old hens and one lovely rooster. We lost a couple hens to the AR heat and got rid of one because she suffered from terminal meanness. Now we are down to 4 great layers who all get along, but we can't leave well enough alone so have ordered 15 female chicks to be delivered on Tuesday. I can't wait! I am also considering letting my broody hen sit on some eggs. I have no idea if it will work out, suggestions? I mean do you just mark a few from one day and leave them be and collect the rest? Of course, they all lay in the same box and i can't have them piling up for 3 weeks. Should I give it a go? Thank you all so much! I couldn't do it without you!!
