onion grass

i searched and didn't find anything on this. we have several patches of onion grass (at least that is what my hubby calls it) i just want to know if it is safe for the chickens to eat. any info is appreciated. thanks

In this area, they're called spring onions & right now that's the only thing in my yard that needs mowing! My free-ranging chickens won't mess with them unfortunately so I guess I'll have to drag the mower out.
 
Thanks. It's the only thing we need to mow right now too. We don't have chickens yet just wanted to be sure before hand.
