I have Jumbo Browns and Goldens. They are producing alot of whites. Apparently there is white in the gene pool. They get big though just like the goldens and Jumbo's. Their skin is yellow if that tells you anything but the meat isn't solid white so they aren't Texas A & M's.

No takers on the quail eggs? My Buff Orphingtons laid their first egg yesterday. If somebody wants to wait I can change my offer to Buff Orphingtons. They are pure. I can send some out as soon as I know they're fertile. They should be, the rooster has been breeding them for 2 weeks now. But It must just be 1 that has started to lay. I have 4 hens.

It doesn't look like anybody wants to hatch out any quail this time of year. I can't say as I blame them. I'm anxious to get the ones I have processed. I don't hatch out any more eggs right now. I'm waiting till spring to start up again. I have 8 hens laying right now and will soon have more. I have a pen of white's that i'm waiting to discover who are girls and which are boys. I'm keeping a quad and processing the rest. I have a trio of goldens that i'm holding for a relative that I really don't think will end up getting them. So i'll have 2 more of those hens laying soon.

My grandsons love to eat the eggs like popcorm and so does a nephew of mine.

So, how do we get this chain back on track? I just had a 100% from my bantam ameracaunas so I would like to do some swapping with some of those eggs. I would like to see some bantams here like cochins, sussex, brahmas, polish, frizzles. I guess if the chain is gonna stay stuck for while I could do private swap with someone.


It was really cool hatching these eggs since I let one of my hens sit on them. she hatched all of them . I was very proud of hers efforts. From now on I will use a hen when I can to hatch my eggs, just as nature intended.
