The rules for the BSA section say that you have to be 18 to participate, the same rules should apply here.

But the same rules don't have to apply here. Just like it says on the rule page BYC moderators will take no part in any problem in the egg chains, so really the BSA section has nothing to do with this section and we can make any rules we want.

That's why the rules for this thread say you have to be 19

He raises quality birds and runs a very good chicken business on his own.. I can bear witness to that. I know rules are rules.. but if we want our youth to be responsible, we have to give them a chance. My opninion is biased since I know him, his operation, and the quality of his birds.. plus the teacher in me has to stand up for him

I help my daughter with her Japanese because she is just turning 14, plus doesn't have the money to ship out eggs by herself yet.
So i micro manage that a bit. But, If they can manage on there own and eggs get back and forth I say ok

So how would you verify it was ok with a parent? Have the parent make an account and post on here?
Or call the mod?

Having been to his house.. I know that his birds and sales are managed by him. He has a very successful ebay egg business - plus he buys/sells and trades birds loally (I should know-- I just bought 7 birds from him on Monday) Obviously transportation to the PO and visits to neighboring farms is provided by parents and gradparents. Don't know what the answer to this situation is.. just chiming in..probably too much

After over a year and over 500 pages of things working how they are why rock the boat? If you let one in then you have to let all in to be fair. I am one that from a very young age (13) was contacting people and doing deals on my own with my moms permission BUT if a rule was set I followed it.. Is it kinda the same as saying well they are very responsible driving the golf cart around on the farm so they should be able to drive a semi truck on the road too.. Just saying rules are rules for a reason and should be enforced for all not for just some.

How old is he? 16? I say let him play. He sounds like he really has his stuff together!

But the thread mods have ultimate say, JMO
