Been missing your updates, Coach. Yes, my Coronation Sussex is the biggest roo I have.
Today is the ride all day in the. Car day. Will be sweet to get back home. Ok folks, send me those eggs! I am plugging the Bator back in when we pull in the driveway!

My feed store buddy sent a guy out who bought all of my colored racing pigeons. I hated to sell them but they where mixing with our whites. I like to buy and sell ,next week i'm going to sell some of my cross breed chickens and maybe some of the ones that i bought yesterday i'm trying to keep the numbers sane, but i'm not trying to hard.

Yee haw! I am home! I was thrilled to go feed the chickens, the young ones have really grown! Man, it is good to be home!!!

Thanks! I am so happy to be here.
I got the frame assembled for another chicken coop, except I need 2 more pieces of lumber. It was dreadfully hot again, I broke out in a sweat just cutting the twigs and grapevines that were in the way. The chickens are growing so fast I am way behind again!
Today one of our neighbors came over with a dog they are trying to find a home for. She was supposed to be a "full blooded" Great Pyrenees, but she is short haired and I suspect part Anatolian. She wanted me to take her, but I needed to ask DH first . I was amazed when he said yes! So tomorrow I am getting a new dog! Her name is Queenie. I am going to tie her near the dog house just outside Chicken City until she gets used to being here . She is very sweet and friendly, supposed to be about 2 years old. Never had pups so she must be spayed. I hear she is good with chickens. And she seems a lot more alert than my other dog . I've been wanting another one to help guard. Joel will be happy to have a buddy.

I picked my wife at the airport today, she's been gone for a week. She went to Reno to a book com and had a great time. She was glad to get back to and i'm glad to get her back. They did loose one piece of her luggage, maybe it will show up tomorrow. Like you i framed up another coop today. It was really, really, humid and it started to drizzle rain and ran me in the house.Well, i was to hot anyway.

I was almost expecting to lose a piece of luggage with all the problems on our trips. They made me go through a body scan both ways. I think it's fat discrimination. Maybe I look like a drug smuggler?

It is so dry here the earth has turned to dust. My corn and my beans are dead. Somebody didn't water enough. But better the garden than the chickens. We need a good steady rain.
How big is your coop, Coach? Mine is 4x8 and I will subdivide it. The Ameraucauna girls really need their own coop, good grief they have been laying for a while. One of the young polish roos tried to breed one of them today and she pecked him . There are also Ameraucauna roos in there so I may try to hatch some of their eggs. I plan to use a discarded shower door on the north side of the coop to let in light. I will not be able to get too much further on the coop until I get more lumber on weds. But I could paint plywood. I have orange paint this time for the exterior.
