Well an unbelievable amount of work got done this weekend around here! My stamina is getting better after that stupid heart Cath...My leg is healed well (cath) and I dont have to worry so much if I pick up something, that I will bleed out, here in the country (nearest heart hospital is 50 miles away). We completed the Ameraucana coop, completed the Maran coop, and the Laying flock coop. Now just need to paint them ALL...Ugh...Then we cleaneed out all the brooders all five of them....and discontinued (until further notice) one of them...which just so happens to also be one of our horse troughs...The horses get it back after oxine! We moved all the babies UP a level....or pen actually.
We got a dump truck FULL of sand and put it where the new site for the brooder shed , silkie house and the bantam houses are to be constructed...(let me add, I got on my handy-dandy ever so old, international tractor and spead said sand, with said tractor! NO power steering) start on that, will be this coming weekend...at least that is the plan. We moved an entire fence line in our pasture...makes the pasture smaller and our lawn bigger...AND now we don't have to walk AROUND to get to the pool...I LOVE IT! won't hurt the horses either because they still have the two acres next door we recently started using! Got the barn all cleaned up from winter crud and rains...and put shavings in all the stalls...made several rounds of the pasture to pick up deadfall and we cleaned off an entire fence that just LOVEs to get crowded with poison ivy every year! We dismantled, cleaned and oxined, then resanded and put new shavings in the maran rooster pen...also did this same proceedure in the laying coop,Maran coop, and AM coop. We mowed everything in the compound including the pastures! We finally bought more trash cans to use as bins for feed,I bought YET another feeder today for the babies of hot2pots they are eating so much and slinging it, so I need to DEbabyrize it so they will stop...Deb found one of the adorable little buff partridge one of two...has cross beak...I tried to trim just a little...poor baby that just never ends well....it sure didn't for us last time....ALL the other babies are doing great...think we are way over a 100 chicks right now...put more in the incy today I need for the feed store so that whole bator is sold...the other set we put in lockdown this morning...it is sold too!.. two ladies are waiting on chicks.and laying hens...or juvies! yay!! GO US!
