Also i have lost 3 big buff cochins this week to heat. That's the ones i got from my poultry judge friend .I thought i was going to kill 30 years of breeding in a week.

Sorry about your birds. It never seems to be the spare roosters that die off, has to be the keepers. I am just feeling miserable, dehydrated so my eyeballs feel sticky. I have been drinking constantly. But it is hard to keep up when it is so darned hot. I really need to get a physical, my heart has been palpitating once in a while so I think an EKG is in order. I sure don't want to go outside right now. I have to go get feed today as well.

I went down to check on the chickens this morning, my favorite polish pullet was lying in the run, on her back, with her feet in the air! She could have gone in the coop, not her, she had to go out in the sun! So I grabbed her and dunked her in the water trough. Brought her up and put her in a cage by herself. She seems to be doing ok. I don't get it, she had water and it was not even that hot yet this morning.Silly girl. I moved their tractor more into the shade, hope that helps some. It was cooler today , but still hot. I need to get the garden watered tomorrow .
I took Louise the goat out of the small pen she was in. I was tired of hearing her yell. She cannot escape from that pen. I put her in the OK corral with Lena so they would both have company. By this afternoon, Louise was running around loose again
so much for the barbed wire keeping her in. I may have to chain that one to a tree as well. I will sure be glad when those 2 are sold!

Don't wait to see a doctor and end up with heart surgery like me. Palpitating heart is real common so it could me nothing ,but you don't know unless you check it out.We had a big storm here last night and it rained hard up the road and about 10 drops here. We have a 2 year old German Shepherd that loves to play with water hose and lays in the geese kiddy pool so why dose she Hals when we gave her a bath? She was about to stink us out of the house. It w as cooler today after the rain so i got some more work on the chicken pens and wash the dog.

I went to the doctor today. Don't want to be the person who sits around at home dropping dead. Heart disease runs in our family. My uncle peck refused to see a doctor and died driving his tractor . My uncle on the other side had a quad bypass and lived for a while after that. My Dad recently had two stents put in. So they did an EKG on me and it was not totally normal. So they have ordered a holter monitor. You have to wear it for 24 hours:p And they are setting up my mammogram. My aunt had breast cancer. Luckily , they caught it early so she is ok now, except her Alzheimers disease. That's the other thing that scares me, that is on both sides of our family too. My poor MIL needs a hip replacement, but lives in Canada so she probably will have to wait a couple years to get it done. Then she needs both knees replaced. We are going up to visit them in August. Hope it stays cool up there so I can escape this heat.

We have had crazy goats like yours and sold them at the sale and once they are gone i'ts like why in the heck didn't we do that sooner!!!

I had a quad bypass and 6 stents a year and a half ago and now i'm better than ever. I sold most of my chickens during that time but i got a lot more now:lol:

Yeah, well our goat auction runs once a month on the first Friday night of the month and they didn't hold it this time due to the July 4th holiday . I may have to drive to Somerville or Savannah. It will be a relief when they are gone. This time of year I probably won't get much for them. I need to sell some of my young ones as well. But I do better listing them on Craigslist .

My Dad had those stents, and he is still recovering. He has no stamina because he mostly eats and sleeps. He has a huge gut , we call it the twins!
