I have learned to hammer both in the dark and with either hand. But I prefer daylight hours for the safety of my fingers. No kids yet, the little fellow I am bottle feeding is not so good. I think there is something wrong with him. Depressing.
one pair of my glasses came in at sears, but they would not let me pick them up because the optician was not in. What a load of crap! I have been waiting 11 days , this is absurd. I mean, I have no glasses!
Must wrap and ship more eggs tomorrow , and maybe pick up my glasses.

Sears won't hesitate to take your money..I bet they didn't say "your glasses have arrived but you can't pick them up today" in the phone message.... I think you should deduct a fee for your wasted trip to pick them up and the inconvenience... at least mention the fact that you made a trip WITHOUT glasses.. to get them.. need me to come up there???? In my old age, I don't take wasted time/energy/money without a fight.. At the very least.. contact Sears corporate with a complaint.

I took 1/2 day off yesterday to get our taxes ready and sent to our tax man.. I had Austin this weekend without Steven since he had Army Reserve Drill.. so chasing after an 18 month old doesn't give you much time for actual THINKING stuff. I told DH I could do stuff like laundry, dishes, cooking and feeding animals.. most of that is pretty mindless chore stuff.. but the thinking.. can't happen when you are constantly jumping up to see what is what when it gets too quiet..
That 1/2 day was wonderful.. I have decided that I should do that every Monday.. LOL

Cleaned out the styro incubator and restocked with eggs.. all my eggs from Deb came in --not a crack in the bunch..and I have some lavendar Ameraucana PLUS some of my Coronation Sussex.. we are hanging steady at 2 per day.. better than the months with NONE per day.

Well time to get off this computer and off to work.. have a great day everyone!!!

DH prefers to put all things together with screws! LOL No banged fingers there.

Sorry the little one is not doing so well. A lot of time and effort goes into the needy ones. sorry there is something wrong with him.

Hope you get your glasses soon. THen the world will seem like a different place!! You'll see all the dust that needs dusting! LOL

I got my glasses at last , and complained to everyone in the store from the manager to the optometrist, but it didn't do me any good. Almost three weeks without glasses, now wearing them gives me a headache. I plan to go on Angieslist and put in a complaint there. DO NOT BUY GLASSES AT SEARS!!!!!
The blasted buck was out when I got home today, down by the drive to the barn. Luckily he is not hard to catch. Then after I got them all fed, they broke out behind the garage and went into the woods . The whole flipping herd! I was so mad, and since they had already been fed, the rattle the feed bucket ploy did not work. I have decided to sell not only the buck but also the three does that do not like to be touched. I was able to catch the rest of them. If they weren't all pregnant and due to kid I wouldn't stress so much. The baby I am feeding does not look good but I hate to give up on him so I keep feeding him.
Shipped four boxes of eggs today, one more to go out tomorrow. Chicken auction this weekend, wish I knew how prices were going to be. I need to move some of these chickens out to cut back the feed bills.

Sorry i haven't been on lately i have had the flu .I had to delay my state testing of my birds and some cochins that i was going to get early this week i'm going to get later. I am a litter better today,thank god. We have sold 3 dozen eggs on ebay so far,what fun.Tomorrow a friend is bring me 2 laying hen to trade for new hamp roosters. Good thing he is, it was getting to the point that we are selling and setting all the eggs that we had

Coach--glad to hear you are doing better. Take it easy for as long as you need to get back into the groove of things again.

I, too , hit a span of actually buying eggs at he store because all my eggs were selling when the girls were not laying ( 6eggs/day). Girls are picking up now though. DH took some to work. He must be very careful as he works for the state in management and he cannot even put up a sign in the lunch room stating something for sale. He did grab a dozen to give to someone today.

Ds found a stash of eggs today. FOllowed one of his favs as she ran off in the wrong direction. ALl marans and EE eggs. Darn girls. A little cave under a rock. CLever girls. One more place to look for eggs. GOod chore for the boys--it's like Easter all the time!

I got two more boxes of eggs shipped today. Just plugged in my new scale and have to learn how to use it. I got two pens of birds out of the barn today and into the grow out pen. Shovelled sand into the run, spread shavings in the coop.
It has gotten cold again, but the robins are out there hopping around any way. The daffodils are blooming and the buds on the trees are fattening up. The kids are running around out there, looking adorable. I posted an ad on Craigslist to sell Jack, now if I could get the photo to post it would be great. I seem to be having trouble on here too, could not post a pic on the swap thread. Maybe I should practise on here....

Ok i got the pic of my mostly done coop up and not sure how to text on the same page. I'll work on that.
