So my husband was at TSC today... we all know how that goes. Long story short he came home with two chicks. One is at least half the size, of not smaller than the other. They are supposedly the same age. Little babe is eating and drinking, but seems to be less active than the bigger one. Could she just be a brand new hatch? She is also very... klutzy. Falls over sometimes when she reaches back to clean herself.

We have medicated chick feed for her and I’m being very diligent about the temp in the brooder. Obviously keeping them quarantined from the rest of the flock in the garage. Is there anything else I should be doing? We know she might not make it but are trying to do all we can to help her.

I ordered 3 Partridge Rocks from Meyer Hatchery and two of them were significantly smaller than the other one.
One smaller one died due to an obstruction in her crop.
The other two have thrived and are just fine at 10 weeks.
Lucy is still smaller than Paisley but she’s not half her size anymore.

Just keep an eye on your chick and maybe put some Nutri-Drench in their water for a day or two.
It’s common for young chicks to be somewhat uncoordinated but she should get better at doing things without falling or tripping.
