You need heat for it to keep it warm. You can use a regular light bulb (40 - 60watt) lowering/raising to adjust the temp in the brooder. Or a heating pad (thread on MHP by Blooie) Cozy stuffed animal for it to snuggle & help keep warm. I've used a feather duster (mimic a hen) however some say the chicks can strangle themselves.
Mirror, it's reflection will make like a buddy is there. Radio so there's "noise" ... If it's too quiet & a sudden noise will spook it.
