Onle one chick is going to hatch the other eggs looks like it is not fertile..... so what should I do with the single chick.... leave it with the broody hen? put it in a brooder box alone? Put it in the brooder box with the hen? Leave it in coop? If I had 2 the decision would be simple... but one.....

If a hen is hatching the eggs the chick will be just fine with mama. It's its her first clutch of eggs just monitor her with it for a day or so.My silkie 7 months old just hatched 6 and they are doing good they are a few week's old and she has been bringing them out of coop. She did lose one baby somewhere last week she hatched 4 OEGB egg's and 3 silkie's I did have to get the last silkie out and finish hatching it and put in brooder with some other chicks but it graduated to pen today with a bunch of other silkies and oegb. She has been a really good mama hate that one just went poof and it was an OEGB.

we seperated the broody momma and the egg...one of my australorps was trying to take ownership of the hatching egg and they were fighting over it.... I didn't want the chick to get killed in the middle...but the broody momma hen is very stressed out being seperated fromthe rest of the flock... gonna check her in 10 mins to see if she has settled down.

Well, we checked on the broody hen and the egg.... she was not on it and it got cold.... welll not really cold it's 80 degrees outside but alot cooler than it was... is that a bad thing... we moved her back into the nest box but blocked the other hens from getting to her and she is now sitting on the egg.... did we kill it? do you think it will be ok?
