Only one left

I had to go to my sons house today and pick-up his one and only hen left. some type of predator got his flock. two where found in the run torn to pieces and the rest were in the coop it looked like they were torn up a little but all in the neck area and huddled together. any ideas on what got them and with the one hen I have her in a small cage. the cage is out with my flock. how long do I need to keep her separate from my flock. all are about the same age and one of my two roosters is dancing around her cage

I would guess a dog got to his flock. With only one hen in a small cage, I would let her in with the rest of the flock now. It is cold out and she needs to be able to get warmth from the other chickens. There will be some fighting, but all should be O K in a few days.

well I got her smaller cage now tucked away in my husband shed with the door closed and a heat lamp on her fro tonight.

well there were no feathers nor fur. it looks like what ever got them had to of gotten in about 3 ft above ground where a branch came down and smashed the wir red roof down. there was a small opening
