Hey everybody!
Fairly new to chickens and have quickly become addicted to them, and BYC as well. I have, however, come to notice that there are quite a few meanies lurking around lately.
So here it is, a 'MEANY FREE' chicken chat thread. What do we all love more then being asked about or chickens?! Not much, maybe being asked about our families!
So, if you're a good hearted person who can refrain from posting anything mean spirited or hurtful, tell me about your chickens, share pictures, I'd love to see and read about them all! Feel free to share about your families as well if you'd Like!

Well, nobody has been mean to me. I read tons of threads everyday, learning for the future, and because its just entertaining. And its always been great people and great info, its just been here in the last couple days soooo many threads have a party pooper, or two, who give unhelpful and insensitive comments and I've seen a couple threads just today go into full blown war! (& many more with "settle down before the mods close this thread" warnings)
But thanks silkiecuddles! Want to share anything about your chickens? Guessing you've got silkies? I hope to get one or two silkie pullets later to use as broodies, unless any of my girls become super mom before then!

My chickens are listed in my signature. My favorite silkie is named Pom Pom, she's my best broody and mama. I currently also have too many chicks and ducklings, but at least they'll lay eggs when they're older and we have a place for unwanted roosters.

What breeds do you have?

I have lots of easter egger pullets and cockerels, a speckeled Sussex, 2 of each silver and gold laced wyandottes, a Rhode island red, a blue laced red wyandotte, a white Plymouth rock, two lf cochin mixes, a California white, and a few more who's breeds and or mixes have yet to be determined.

We'd love to have you! I don't understand why anyone would want to be rude and hurtful to the folks who come on here just looking to learn and meet folks with the same interests, but they do none the less. Wow, he is just so handsome, that is my absolute favorite coloring on a rooster! Do you have any pics of him as a juvenile? I'm hoping one of my boys will grow up to look so beautiful! I had a turkey named tom as a kid as well! He "owned" our front porch and didn't allow any of my grandfather's hinting beagles on it! Everyone can feel free to throw any other chat topics (that follow BYC's rules) out for discussion!
