Ok, this is our first year raising chickens, and though we were as careful as we could reasonably be, a neighborhood dog wiped out all but two. We have a rooster and a hen left, both about 17 weeks old. My question is, is this going to be a problem to only have two like this? I hear that we should have quite a few more hens to keep the roo' happy. If it is a problem, should we be looking to purchase grown hens to replace what we lost? We are currently beefing up security and trying to find out who's stinkin' dog it is, so this shouldn't happen again.
