I was a bit too keen to have just one more egg this morning so we could all have a nice Saturday morning breakfast, so I popped down to the coop bright and early to see if any of the girls had laid yet, and when I opened the lid there was Penny sitting there giving me the biggest stink eye I've ever seen from her (she's the bottom of the pecking order round here and usually doesn't make much eye contact).
I apologised and quietly closed the lid and backed away to give her some privacy, but she came out a moment later all huffy and fluffy and bristling, and when I checked again about an hour later there was NO EGG!!
