Well I had a pretty bad hatch and only 2 made it to the brooder. One looked really bad and despite my best efforts he died Saturday night. All night Sat and all day Sun I heard cheep cheep cheep. I gave the chick a mirror and a rolled up towl but it didn't work to keep him quiet long and he kept pushing the mirror over. So natrually I had to go get a few more chicks to keep him company

. This morning I called all over but most places were out of chicks because of Easter and they weren't expecting more till Thursday or Friday, luckly one of the feed stores I go to had some still. All they had was a hatchery choice of pullets so they didn't know what kinds they were. They had ideas on most of them but didn't know for some. I was only going to get one, really, but two managed to jump in the box and a third was close to following but my mom put a stop to it

(well actually it was what my dad would say when we got home that kept the third out). So I got a Silver Laced Wyondotte and a mystery chick. Here are some pics of my new additons, anyone know what the mystery chick is? The store orders from Privett Hatchery.
This is the Wyondotte

Here is the chick I hatched, it is a turkin/gold sexlink. I don't know if anyone has a guess but would you say pullet or cockeral? It is a week old today.

Awww... they are all adorable and I bet your lone chick is very happy to have buddies now. I have two silkies that are 3 weeks old and they stick together like glue. If they get seperated they are so lost. They just cheep and panic every time. Two peas in a pod. Congrats on your babies.

aaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwww your turken cross is so cute

If I "had" to guess...I'd say a RSL, but I've never had anything other than my 2 SLW (one of which is actually pencilled) and my PBR. If you know which hatchery your feed store got them from, browse through their photos online. I know that the hatchery mine came from posts a list of breeds they use to fill the "mixed bag" specials with. It gives a jumping off point to start checking definite "no's" off and widdle it down to a few possibilities!

And that Turken cross is adorable! I don't generally care for the turkens, but that was is just too cute!

RSL=red sex link? The pictures don't look alike to me. The hatchery they order from is Privett. I have been all over the site and can't find the hatchery choice they got. It only shows hatchery choice for bantams but I know these aren't bantams. I have also looked at all the breeds and still don't have any idea.
My little turkin is cute, it has dark eyeliner on and some light chipmunk stripes. I don't really like turkins but I have a few and I think they look alright.
