Well, we got him. Dad hit him right in the head, but he still thrashed a lot.

I'm worried now because the trap scratched me. Not the bloody part, thank goodness.

No worries, that's from nerves and only lasts 30 seconds or so. It seems like forever, but in truth it is over with immediately as far as the animal knows.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it wasn't as bad as it looked. It was a very solid shot. But Dad shot it again because he just hates to see those things.

Dumb question, but do the smaller caliber guns (assuming a good hit to begin with) make less of a mess? I've got blood all over my lawn, and cleaning the cage was a real treat

oh yeah, .22 doesn't make as much of a mess as a .38 or .45 would

Because it was a headshot, thats why there was so much blood and trashing. I just get the garden hose out and spray the grass down till there is no visable blood........ wait a minute, thats why I probably have no grub issues here
