(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My dad had chickens while I was growing up, but this is the first time I've ever attempted to raise them myself. My kids got those little dyed chicks that they sell around Easter.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 7.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have no idea what kind they are. I think the 6 roosters are Leghorns and I am not sure about the hen. She's a light orange color,
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I found BYC while Googling information about raising chickens.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I like poking around at fleamarkets, camping, shooting, rock concerts, gardening, reading.....It would be great if I actually had the time for all of it, though!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am a SAHM of 6. My husband and I just moved to a piece of property almost 2 acres, so we get to live like we're in the country when we're are almost smack dab in the city. We have a cat and a dog and now 7 chickens.
