Oops! My Bad!

I went out to the chicken yard about 2:30 this afternoon to give the girls fresh water, and to my surprise, I found an egg lying in the chicken run. Then I saw another, and another, and under the raised coop, another! What the heck are they doing laying in the yard?! Then I glanced at the pop door and it dawned on me that I hadn't opened it this morning. I had let them out the big door, closed it up, and forgot to open the little door. They couldn't get back in the coop to lay, so they did the best they could. Sorry, girls.

I wouldn't worry to much unless they continue to lay that way now, they are probably laughing at you for having to do egg hunt anyways

I do have to say their cackles sounded more like chuckles today.

I had to close the girls off from the coop when I was having rooster trouble(freezer camp for them). My girls laid eggs all over even after I put a nest box out for them.The house plants on the porch was a favorite spot!

I don't know. If it were my chickens they would be stomping around the run squawking like they had been tortured.

Yes...if I am a little bit late coming out to let them into the yard...they've already worn tracks frantically pacing around their run.... no weekend sleep ins here!
