It's currently day 18 for my button quail eggs, and I've calibrated my thermostat incorrectly. I trusted my Zilla temp controller to hold a steady temperature, and it did. BUT, I accidentally set it to 98, due to the turn dial. I thought it was at 100, but I don't think it has been. I have a lot of animals, so I need to spread my money over all of them. I don't have ANY thermometers at all. I use thermostat controlled heating for my pets (a corn snake, a betta sorority of about fifteen girls and juvenile bettas (filtered, heated 20g long), three male bettas (filtered heated divided 20 gallon long), six new guppies, three neon tetras, four mice, six hissing roaches, seven billion bladder snails, five indoor cats, and six outdoor/stray cats. And the quail eggs).
Anyway does anyone think the eggs still have a chance? They've been in lockdown since day 13, and I have seen some minor wiggling in some of them. Should I increase the temp at this point to get it right? I think it's a bit late for that. They were shipped eggs, and they had wonky air cells, but they are fortunately now at the top, where they belong. I did candle yesterday, very briefly, and all the eggs have dark masses and visible air cells. I didn't see movement, but the eggs are really hard to see through.
I have to leave the house for half the day today, for a friends graduation party, would that be alright? I'm also gonna pick up some fertile chicken eggs from her, and some of her (many) guppies.
Thanks for any help.
