I have my first eggs in the bator. They are on day 6. Okay, I admit it. I've very excited. These days are going by so slowly. I was candling one egg and accidentally dropped it. (Glad the kids weren't here to see it.) But so, it cracked. Is it gone? Did I kill it? It had quite a few cracks in the shell but the membrane is not broken. I put candle wax over the cracks to try to keep the bacteria out. Is it a lost cause or is there still hope? It's a Buttercup and I really want it to hatch!

if it is cracked hatching rate did go way down. now all you can do is put it back and hope. it still may hatch but only time will tell.

you can try, the jar could have killed it. Canle againg in a few days, if you know its dead get it out so you dont spread bacteria.
