Oops: Thread for sharing stupid things you did

When I was but a young silly girl, I asked my brother if a lawn mower uses gas if it’s running but not moving. It’s been downhill ever since (I’m that friend/family member who always finds a way to get injured). My brother still asks me if I had to buy gas for our lawn mower yet and I’m 40 now.

Oh, here's another one; once when i was younger my brother and i used to watch these nature shows, and we once saw them making maple syrup, deciding it was a great idea we ran outside exited to try that on one of our crab-apple trees, we had grabbed a butter-knife on the way, and preceded to carve into the tree trying to get the "maple syrup". We were eventually told by my poor mother that this was the wrong kind of tree, so we started crying, unsure what to do now, we ended up covering the poor tree in band-aids, and performing some kind of ritual, in which we apologized to the tree. I've never forgotten that...
LOL, i have a million more stories like that...
I have a childhood tree story too! I was about six and we lived in an apartment building with a beautiful, huge maple tree at one end. I had already asked my engineer father why it lost it's leaves and was told that it was "conserving energy during the winter". I decided that it had two kinds of energy - light and water. Since we still had light all winter (I was far enough south that the change wasn't radical to a six yo), I decided it had to conserve water in the winter.

So... I thought if I gave it extra water it would be able to keep it's leaves. I can only imagine the water bill for our landlord after I stood and watered it for over an hour, then left the hose running at the base of the tree overnight.

When the leaves fell, I blamed mean adults that didn't allow it to be watered....

When I was little, I got some money for Christmas. I got it dirty so I decided to put it through the dishwasher to clean it. It was a fifty dollar bill :th
@Ihavesomechickens if you had candadian money it wouldn't die like that american dollarbill did

I've accidentally washed us bills numerous times that were left in pockets. They neverfell apart? Virgin pulp fibers are resilient. Not so much after recycling once ortwice though.

I took a leaf and coated it in paint. Then I proceeded to put the still wet leaf in my pocket. I forgot to empty my pockets when I washed my clothes so then all my clothes got paint on them. I

it’s a hard life
0question is... WHY WERE U PAINTING A LEAF????

As an older sister, hehe. The things I did..

I made dirt worm pies.. yep told my younger brother not to eat them when I went in the house.. well he ate them... bad thing is he love worms (yuck) one day at the grandparents house grandma caught him with a night crawler above his mouth head bad crawler hanging above it ready to drop it in.... wahahahahaha

My cat is notorious for bringing back lovely presents of chipmunk corpses....I opened the door to congratulate him and he ran right inside while carrying the chipmunk! Plot twist....it wasn't dead. Guess who spent the next 20 mins trying to catch a half dead chipmunk with a cat chasing after it?
Been there so many times lol
