Hey everyone!
I'm hatching some Ameraucana and FBCM eggs.. Out of 15 Ameraucanas only 4 have made it so far, out of 18 Marans only 2 have made it.. It has definitely been a rough first time incubating. =((
Anyways.. I went to candle the eggs tonight and one of my marans eggs was stuck to the turner and had some light brown liquid oozing out of it. I was finally able to get it out and candled it and it seems there is still a baby moving in there, but it might just be floating around from me not having the steadiest of hands. Should I throw the egg away?
Also, what is generally the hatch rates on shipped eggs? I am using a hovabator genesis 1588.. Around 100 degrees and 45%-55% humidity. The marans eggs were not packaged well and 4 were cracked and all over the place on arrival, the ameraucana eggs were shipped really nicely. So I don't know if I'm doing something wrong. Any help would be great!
Thanks everyone. =)
