Hi Sam I hope all is going well with you. I saw on the news yesterday that the company NECC has finally been charged for the tainted steroids they distributed to unsuspecting patients like Granny two years ago.
I could not believe the beautiful home the owners live in that was paid for with greed and negligence. People were being I interviewed and so many are still suffering from these shots.
I hope Granny is not physically affected anymore. So many were injured and killed from this, and I hope that when the trial is over some closure can be found for them and their families.

Granny was really very fortunate. When she first started showing symptoms of a problem, I thought it was a boil and treated it four times daily with hot compresses. In just a few days it opened and for several days a copious amount of fluid drained from it. Of the hundreds of people affected she was the only one that the cyst didn't rupture internally. If it had she may have been among the many who died.

She did have to have surgery to total remove the cyst and spent a week in the hospital on an antibiotic cocktail that caused horrible hallucinations. She then was on medications for several months but still that was a much quicker recovery than experienced by most.

While there have been many lawsuits filed Granny didn't want to become involved as they seek damages against everyone involved and she feels the doctors shouldn't be penalized since they had not way of knowing the drug was contaminated and they were only trying to lessen the back pain she had been experiencing. We were sent papers from the state of Massachusetts to file a claim but the date they had to be filed by was impossible to meet. The paperwork arrived in the mail on the same day it had to be filed by. Plus it read as if it only applied to creditors who had a claim against the drug manufacturer.

The Michigan Attorney General has been keeping us apprised of the progress of prosecution. I am contacting his office to see if their is some way to recoup our expenses without joining one of the lawsuits that are suing everyone.

I have a very similar hosier cabinet. It is in very rough shape and is missing all of the interior parts. I am refinishing it in my High School woodshop. It has at least 5 coats of white paint covering the maple shelves and the oak exterior. Almost all of the shelves the parts sit on are deteriorating. I was wondering if you had any tips or any suggestions on how to refinish,where to buy parts and how to strip paint quickly.

Looks like you have very good bones for making a very nice cabinet. I would suggest using a citrus based non toxic paint remover to strip the wood. A heat gun can speed up the process but it can burn the wood if you are not careful. Expect it to take many applications of the stripper to remove the paint. Scrapers help the process.

Looking at the cabinet I would expect that the open area of the top would have had tambour doors. If there is a slot you can build to doors.
