Opa's place -Where an old rooster visits with friends

She has a cyst on her spine caused by the fungal contamination of the pain serum. It is located over her spine and she is the first person to have a cyst erupt externally. That may have been a good thing since it has not entered her spinal column. She will be having surgery late this afternoon. They claim it is a rather minor procedure however at 86 she is classified as a high risk patient.

So sorry to hear this! I'll be thinking of you all. Best wishes to Granny for a speedy recovery.

9PM and I am finally home after having spent the day at the hospital. The surgery will well and the surgeon was happy with how it went. As it turns out the surgery is the least of their concerns. They are more concern with how she handles the meds that will be placing her on and how well she responds. They informed us today that the minimum hospital stay will be 10 days. This whole issue is some serious stuff and she's a long way from out of the woods. They still aren't real sure as to the best treatment nor what all the possible effects are going to be/
