We had our corned beef and cabbage last night. DH usually cooks this and since he works wednesday he decided to have it last night. Have to say it was very tasty. Enjoy yours Opa!

Good morning everyone.

My plan for today is to get more yard work done this afternoon. Yesterday broke a record of 64 for that date, I am just hoping its warm again today.
Also waiting to see if my OEGB eggs get here....
But for now, checking out the posts on BYC.

Glad you are safe at home Woody. I agree, never too much sauerkraut, DH especially LOVES it. After a meal like that, I meander upstairs, he stays on the couch.

Rain, rain and more rain. My pond is filling up again! Poor chickens with their muddy feet. (and muddy eggs) I shouldn't complain, at least we aren't getting snow. It's been a tolerable 47 degrees the past few days. I'll take it.

Mags - good luck with your eggs!

Good day all,

Luna, hope you're feeling better.

Woody, no such thing as too much kraut x 2. (I asked DH and he agrees.)

Maggie, I sure hope those eggs come today!

froggie, I guess I should get some corned beef when I shop today!

Sheila, that's scary. I had that happen once, many years ago. Since then I am religious about locking doors, even when I'm outside. Poor DH has been locked out by me many times! He finally learned to take his keys even when just going out to the garage.

It's very pretty here today, and hopefully the mud in the runs is hardening. Came near sliding down into it yesterday, bleck! Still need to reinforce the one coop/run some more, so that's at the top of today's list!

Can't hear yet, except the ringing and all the Christmas carols involving bells are rotating through my head.

Rule #1: Never fire a big gun in a small coop.

Hi PK, how are the chicks?

St. Patrick's isn't until Wednesday the 17th, but hope it's happy every day!

Oh. I thought it was today.

The chicks are good, although I wish they would stop growing. They're so cute!

I also got my very first fart egg today!

Nope. No eggs yet.

I will just keep hoping they get here intact.
This morning I switched the ducks, younger chicks and two guinea keets into bigger brooders. Ducks sure can be messy!! But I really love these two. One is quacking and the other one is higher pitched, does that mean I have one drake and one hen?
The 12 chicks we have are coloring out so beautifully and I am excited for the next hatch around the 31st....thats polish, black cochin bantams, salmon faverolle mixes and lakenvelders. The lakenvelders are from Sheila.

My aunt is supposed to bring over some duck eggs for me to incubate for her and maybe some bobwhite eggs. The bobwhite eggs are from birds I hatched last year for her grandson. The duck eggs are from runners and mixes I hatched for her last year as well.
Ack. I am procrastinating. I have to let the dogs outside and then start raking, picking up the yard!

PK What is a fart egg??
Woody, sauerkraut....not my thing but besides corned beef my mom would cook it to put on hotdogs...
ranchhand, its pretty dry here today but I have to wait for it to dry more before I clean up the backyard. Its soup.
Sheila, that IS scary!!! Did you find out who it was???? if someone came into my house, unfortunately, they would be dog lunch.
